Hello, I'm Chelsy! The journey to creating The Poppy Creative began with a love story and a little setback.
Founded in 2023 | Mandan, ND
December 2022 we got engaged, we were excitedly planning our wedding—but in February 2023, life threw us a curveball. My husband’s job was unexpectedly lost due to funding cuts. Being terrified for our future and trying to readjust to many upcoming life changes we sat down to brainstorm alternative ideas. With a tighter budget, we started looking for affordable rental options, hoping to find decor that fit our unique style. But as we searched, it became clear there weren’t many options that felt like “us.” That’s when we realized there was a gap in the market—and a chance to help others like us.
At its core, The Poppy Creative is about celebrating people and their stories. I wanted to help others find beautiful, affordable options that could take the stress out of their big days. We started with just a few pieces of rental furniture, but as word spread, so did the possibilities!
Today, we’re more than a rental service—we’re a space for everyone—whether you’re planning a big bash, hosting a cozy meeting, snapping photos or wanting to let your creativity run free.
